SQL server 2008 domain change -

In the near future, my organization must change both the machine name and the Windows domain for one of our SQL Server. Server is running SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition and OS is Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition.

I have found good references to change the machine name, but anyone can help it that should be done to adjust

I believe that only one when you change your domain, you need to change the thing that has user account access on the server when you install SQL Server, setup The process has given some rights to the account Are using the EVA to run. If it was a domain account (for example, OLDDOMAIN \ SQL_Proxy), you must give the same rights as the proxy account on your new domain (e.g., NEWDOMAIN \ SQL_Proxy).

If, however, on the other hand you are using "local system" to run your SQL service, you do not have to make any changes at all, because this account needs to run SQL Service Enough powers will continue.

Please post back after running this process - I would be very interested to know if you have participated in any obstacle race during the conversion.
