object - Article/book: from source code to executable program? -

I'm looking for a "human-readable" article that says, for example, if possible, the source Code transition, C, ideally for an executable program, will include details about the object file format in the article, how different code of object code for eta.al. This fictional article also explains how the linker uses more than one object file, how it uses different ELF entities and thus produces a ready-execution file.
